At night, the Gophers helped Cheatsy by stealing the crops and replacing them with [[Piranha Plant]]s and [[Venus Fire Trap|fire plant]]s, laughing alongside Cheatsy as well. The following morning, when [[Mario]], [[Luigi]], and [[Yoshi]] discover that the crops have been stolen, Cheatsy and the Gophers use the Piranha Plants to attack Mario and his friends.
