Despite this, starting with the ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]'' [[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass|Booster Course Pass]], Rocky Wrenches would once again be redesigned to be more reminiscent of their original appearance in ''Super Mario Bros. 3'', having brown, pointy snouts, white claws, and blue goggles with thin, white straps, as well as having their shell on their back again. However, they still retain a couple details from their previous, more Monty Mole-like design from ''[[New Super Mario Bros. Wii]]'', such as the white stomach, their more Monty Mole-like body proportions, and their goggles being round. In ''[[Super Mario Party Jamboree]]'', this design would be slightly tweaked to give Rocky Wrench a visible mouth with two sharp fangs reminiscent of their ''Super Mario Bros. 3'' and ''Mario Kart DS'' design.
